Get Involved

Lectors:

Church members serve as a lectors. They serve the church by reading the Old Testament lesson, leading the Psalm and reading the Epistle at services.

Acolytes:

This program is open to all youth from third grade to those aged 99. Training is held when there are volunteers. Acolytes assist the clergy at the alter during worship services. At St. Martin's children can begin to serve as acolytes at the age of seven. Helping as an acolyte is open to all persons in the parish from ages seven and up. Training is required. If this is a service you would like to be part of, contact Fr. Ron,

Altar Care:

If you are interested in helping out, call Beth Mincer, or inform the church office. You need not have experience, as you will be trained after you volunteer.

The Second Table (Coffee Hour):

One of the ways in which hospitality is demonstrated in the Epicopal Church and at St. Martin's is in the coffee hour, held after worship services. We call this time "Our Second Table."  It is our time to come together informally to share stories and be with one another in the happenings of our life together. Those who help ensure that coffee, juice, and snacks are available. Cleanup of the coffee area and the kitchen afterwards is also part of this ministry. Visit with Stephenie Russell-Heller if you would like to help.

Bible Study:

Fr. Ron is most interested in forming a group for Bible Study. Visit with him about this if you also are interested.

The MDGs represent a global partnership that has grown from the commitments and targets established at the world summits of the 1990s. Responding to the world's main development challenges and to the calls of civil society, the MDGs promote poverty reduction, education, maternal health, gender equality, and aim at combating child mortality, AIDS and other diseases.
