Vestry Notes

St. Martin of ToursVestry MeetingMarch 14, 2010   The meeting was called to order at 10:30 am 

 Attendees:  Debbie Maruca, Ann Chambers, Mary Rosser, Marcia Ghali, Cathie Hughes, Beth Mincer,  Joy Hooyboer, Absent:  Mike Roe and Kenley Sturdivant WilsonGuests:  Kim Roberts, Diana Chapman, Brittany Hanson, Caldwell Manners and Steve Mincer.

 Minutes:   The minutes were approved after being ammened to reflect that the Diocesan Faith Asking had been accepted, not paid.  Deb moved to approved the minutes of the 2/4/10, Cahtie seconded.

 Treasure's  Report:    Total expence:  $6,037.99Net Ordinary Income:  -$2,272.64 Checking:                 $588.88Savings:               $12,656.44CD:  243829            $8,096.49        243832          $11,607.36 Total:                    $32,949.17 

Priest In Charge Report:   Phil will follow up with Ernesto Medina on a date for preaching class.   He remined that you need to be licensed to preach.    Phil has also been sending out the Bishop 'Mini Memo's'

 Senior Warden's Report:   Deb stated that they decided to wait until the weather is a bit warmer to put up the new doorbell.  She also said that Quest would charge $44.00.Cox $29 with no voice mail.   She suggested possibly an answer machine that you can access from outside the church.  Caldwell  suggested that we look into Google Voice which is a free service and can send messages directly to email and cell phones.  It was decided to hold off on making a decision until this has been looked into. Deb also suggested that maybe we only have cake, cookes, etc once a month because we are having a hard time getting people to sign up for a month at a time. Beh moved to accept Senior Warden's report and Cathie seconded.

 Junior Warden's Report: We will wait until after the Presiding Bishop's visit to get the dumpster.   Cathie will make inquires about a possible St Martins entry for the Presiding Bishop.

 Old Business: Clean up day is March 21st after the service.  Beth will check into the carpet cleaner they use at her office and if possible to get the carpet done before the 21st.

 New Business: Phil stated we will look into having greeters for the service at the back of the church.    They can pick people to bring the sacraments up for the Euchrist.   We will look into this after Easter.   Also a possible quarterly event  with food to get the message about St. Martin's.  Participants for the Cinco de Mayo parade gather by the church, we could set up a table with coffee, water, etc.   Kim will look into the soccor game schedules so we can have bake sles on those days at the church.   Maybe look into what it would cost to have t-shirts made. Also was discussed was the add in the phone book, cost is $48 a month, Beth will look into this. Phil also suggested that we have a single contact at the church for use of the church by non members.     Also discussed was the cost of the Easter Lillies, it was decided to put the price of $8 in the bulletin.                                                                                                                                                              Meeting was adjourned at 11:15 am.
